Minify or beautify CSS
Minify removes comments and whitespace for production. Beautify expands minified CSS into indented, readable rules.
Result
Your processed CSS will appear here.
When NOT to use CSS Minifier & Beautifier
- Minified CSS is painful to debug — always keep the beautified source as your working copy and minify only at release time.
- It does not do advanced optimizations (merging duplicate rules, removing unused selectors, autoprefixing) — those need a build tool like PostCSS or Lightning CSS.
Questions people ask
Is my input sent to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you paste is uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere.
How much smaller will my CSS get?
Typically 10–30%, from removing comments, excess whitespace, and redundant separators. The tool shows the before/after sizes and the exact percentage saved.
Is the minified output safe to ship?
The minifier only removes comments and whitespace that CSS doesn't need, and never renames classes or merges rules. Still, test critical pages — and keep the original for editing.
