Timestamp Converter

Turn epoch seconds or milliseconds into readable dates — and any date back into a timestamp.

100% private. Conversions happen entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere.

Convert timestamps

The current time updates every second. Paste any timestamp to convert it, or pick a date to get its timestamp.

When NOT to use Timestamp Converter

  • Timestamps carry no time zone of their own — a value that looks wrong by a few hours is usually a zone mix-up in the system that produced it, not a conversion error.
  • Dates far outside the range your browser can represent (before 271,822 BC or after 275,760 AD) can't be converted.

Questions people ask

Is my input sent to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you paste is uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere.

How does it know if my timestamp is seconds or milliseconds?

By length: values with 12 or more digits are treated as milliseconds, shorter ones as seconds — and the detected unit is always shown so you can sanity-check it.

Which time zone is used?

Both. Results show your browser's local time and UTC side by side, so you never have to guess which one a log used.
