When NOT to use QR Code Generator
- Never encode passwords or secrets in a QR code except Wi-Fi sharing — anyone who can see the code can read its contents with any scanner.
- Very long text makes a dense code that small prints can't reproduce reliably; shorten URLs first, and always test-scan a proof print.
Questions people ask
Is the QR code really generated locally?
Yes. A small open-source QR library (qrcode-generator by Kazuhiko Arase, MIT-licensed) is bundled into this page and runs entirely in your browser — your link, text, or Wi-Fi password never leaves your device.
Will the code scan everywhere?
It produces standard QR codes (error-correction level M) that any phone camera or scanner app can read. Test yours with your own phone before printing — dark code on a light background, printed at a reasonable size.
Does the QR code expire?
No. It encodes your content directly (not a redirect through our site), so it works forever — but it also can't be edited later. If the destination URL changes, print a new code.
