When NOT to use Remove Duplicate Lines
- It compares whole lines only — it cannot find near-duplicates that differ by a typo, extra space, or punctuation.
- For code or data where leading spaces are meaningful (indentation, CSV), check the result before replacing the original.

Is my text sent to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your text is never uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere.
Does it keep the order of my list?
Yes. The first occurrence of each line is kept in its original position; later repeats are removed.
What counts as a duplicate?
By default, lines must match exactly. Turn on case-insensitive matching to treat lines that differ only in letter case as duplicates.
