When NOT to use Remove Extra Spaces
- It can't fix spacing inside code or tables where columns are aligned with spaces — collapsing those spaces destroys the alignment.
- It standardises spacing only; it won't correct punctuation spacing conventions that differ by style guide (such as French double-space after periods, which is outdated anyway).

Is my text sent to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your text is never uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere.
What exactly does it change?
With the default options it replaces every run of spaces or tabs with a single space and trims the start and end of each line. Your words and line breaks are never changed.
Will it join my lines together?
No. Line breaks are preserved (unless you also drop blank lines). To join lines into paragraphs, use Remove Line Breaks instead.
